Copec, with the most extensive network of service stations in the country, offers its business customers a range of solutions to manage their fleets’ fuel, one of them being Cupón Electrónico (Electronic Coupon), aimed at light vehicles. At the same time, the company was expanding its digital ecosystem with Muevo, its consumer app. In that scenario, Muevo Empresas was born — today Copec Empresas: the bet on bringing the digital experience to the business segment.

The Challenge

The project was born to digitize and improve what was, until then, Cupón Electrónico: a service that ran on prepaid cards and PINs, each tied to a single vehicle. To fuel up, the driver had to present their card, ID, and odometer reading, while the attendant checked the license plate, balance, and PIN on the terminal. It was a cumbersome, error-prone process given the context in which it took place, and it gave administrators little real-time traceability. Drivers often didn’t know whether their card had any balance until the moment of payment. They then had to call the administrator from the service station and hope they were near a computer to sort it out.

The challenge wasn’t just moving the card onto a screen. A new product had to be created to help control fuel spending, consumption, and invoicing in a secure, clear, and transparent way. That product also had to serve profiles with very different goals and contexts of use: the person managing the budget from the office and the person fueling up at the station.

The Solution

A complete digital service was designed from scratch, replacing manual steps with a real-time digital experience. It connects the person managing the budget with the person fueling up at the station, so every fill-up is simpler, safer, and more traceable, and spend management no longer depends on a computer.

The project addressed four complementary fronts:

01

One product, multiple profiles:

Differentiated experiences for super administrators, administrators, and drivers, each designed around their needs, permissions, and usage patterns.

02

A multiplatform ecosystem:

Integrated design of the mobile app, the web administration platform, and the service’s corporate website (appcopecempresa.cl).

03

Real-time control and traceability:

Spend management from the phone, with daily and monthly limits per driver, a record of every fill-up, and digital invoicing sent automatically to the SII (Chile’s tax authority).

04

Brand and product in parallel:

Close collaboration with the branding team while the brand was being created, aligning product and identity from the start and delivering a more consistent, polished experience that matches business and user expectations.
